Reviews
Update, May 2022: the store had an interior remodel (new floors, added self check out đ, new signage) and looks much more modern. Otherwise, same as below, convenience is the best here and the self checkout prevents what in the past were long lines at busy times.
Food selection (even produce) is mediocre, and not as good as the newer, larger Safeway at Wilston shopping center, but this is extremely convenient and the people are generally nice. For example, there is no fresh bakery like the other store, or self-checkout lines (which at Wilston are normally packed anyway) but it's close to my house and less stressful. Update, they have remodeled and now have self checkout! Still very convenient and easy to get in and out.
Update Nov 2023, very few changes since last update a little over a year ago. Still have self checkout and people are nice.
Truly the most disorganized pharmacy with zero customer service skills, especially the male pharmacist, who did not react at all when I passed out in front of his window retrieving a prescription ten days after having COVID. Theyâve lost my dogâs prescriptions multiple times. Donât try to transfer a prescription out of here because they wonât do it properly, the new pharmacy will try to call them for it and then theyâll say they have no record of it. They had the best prices in the area for my dogâs medications, but Iâd rather pay twice as much for competency and empathy.
Decent grocery store. Items often are not charged as shown in the ads. It is hard to find things that are advertised. It appears to be an older store and not very well run
Very good attention to the costumer and many fresh roses?
Pretty dumpy, but it gets the job done.
UPDATE: I am on the Safeway website to leave a comment, but an account required to leave a comment, and here's the reality: Safeway clearly doesn't care how it runs it's neighborhood grocery stores, or it would benchmark vs Giant and Harris Teeter...and even some Food Lions in Virginia. I go to this location because it's convenient, but there's always discolored meat, freezer-burnt ice cream, and the front area is very cluttered. I'd say that a remodel would help, but not significantly if you look at the more upgraded stores on Harrison St and at Williston Centre/Plaza where there are sticky floors and stuffy to stale air... think dollar store ambiance.
Oh wonderful as usual. Great prices and coupons and this small-ish store still packs a wallop. I'll be baack!! * Nuh Uh...August 2023....WELL.... Maybe I'm not coming back -- I was appalled when I saw an employee walk to the dumpster with a cart full of expired shrink wrapped veggies and then proceed to throw them into the dumpster with SUCH GREAT FORCE that I, at the other end of the parking lot, could hear each package SLAM with great force against the inside of the dumpster. The HUNGRY will always be with you -- repurpose those "expired" but usable veggies instead of being so cruel!!!!!
Adequate for a grocery store
The management is very racist and intolerant, I saw an instance where a manager said to someone who didnât speak English âyou people always come here donât know what you want and canât readâ, lady your not special because your work as a manager and only speak English. Terrible location, they hire more ederly and disabled Iâm sure not to help them but to feel superior and abuse them behind close doors
